"W57" - the Salary of the Auditor was then fixed at £600 a year, plus £300. This was an audit of the Consular Accounts as well as those of the Colony.
£600 was provided for in the estimates, an equal proportion for defraying half the Salary (Colony £300) had by F.O. $300, no charge on Colonial Funds.
In 1860 this Salary of the Auditor was exceeded by £1000 in the same manner as before.
